Discipline and respect form the foundation of our institution

Our Code of Conduct

Discipline is the cornerstone of Madhyamgram Ramakrishna Missionary Institution. Inspired by the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, we believe that self-discipline is the greatest virtue a student can develop.

The following rules have been established for the benefit of all students. Every student and parent is expected to read, understand and abide by these rules at all times. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action.

👗 Uniform Rules

  • All students must wear the prescribed school uniform every day without exception.
  • Uniforms must be clean, neat and properly pressed at all times.
  • Boys must wear navy blue pant, white shirt, black shoes and white socks.
  • Girls must wear navy blue skirt (lower classes) or white saree with red border (higher classes), white blouse and white shoes/sandals.
  • School ID card must be worn or carried on all school days.
  • No student is permitted to come to school in casual or non-uniform clothing.

🏫 General Discipline

  • Students must maintain orderly and respectful behaviour at all times on school premises.
  • Running, shouting or playing in classrooms and corridors is strictly prohibited.
  • Students must stand up and greet when a teacher enters the classroom.
  • Students must not damage or misuse school property. Any damage will result in fine.
  • Fighting, bullying or using abusive language is a serious offence and will be punished.
  • Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are strictly not allowed in school.
  • Students must keep the school premises clean and must not litter.

🙏 Respect for Teachers & Elders

  • Students must show full respect to all teachers, staff and visitors at all times.
  • Students must not talk back, argue or behave rudely with any teacher.
  • Students must follow all instructions given by teachers promptly and without complaint.
  • Students must greet teachers and elders politely whenever they meet them.

📚 Academic Responsibilities

  • All homework and assignments must be completed and submitted on the due date.
  • Students must bring all required books and materials to school every day.
  • Attendance at all weekly tests and terminal examinations is compulsory.
  • Students must not copy from others or cheat during examinations — this is a serious offence.
  • Class notes must be kept neat and complete. Teachers may inspect notebooks at any time.
  • Students must revise their lessons at home daily and not wait until examination time.

📅 Attendance Rules

  • Regular attendance at school is compulsory. Irregular attendance will affect promotion.
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required for a student to appear in annual examinations.
  • If a student is absent, parents must inform the school in writing or by phone.
  • A medical certificate must be submitted if absent due to illness for 3 or more days.
  • Leave of absence for personal reasons must be applied for in advance and must be approved by the Principal.

💰 Fee Rules

  • All fees must be paid by the prescribed due date each month or term.
  • Late payment of fees will attract a fine as determined by the institution.
  • Students with outstanding fees may be prevented from appearing in examinations.
  • Fee receipts must be kept safely by parents as proof of payment.
  • Any queries regarding fees must be directed to the school office — not to teachers.

🚪 Withdrawal Rules

  • Parents who wish to withdraw their child from the institution must give advance notice in writing.
  • A Transfer Certificate will only be issued after all dues have been cleared.
  • No school documents or certificates will be provided if there are outstanding dues.
  • Students who leave without proper notice may not be eligible for a Transfer Certificate.

🏠 Boarding Rules (for Boarders)

  • Boarders must follow the daily timetable strictly, including wake-up, meal and study times.
  • Boarders must keep their dormitory, belongings and surroundings clean at all times.
  • Boarders must not leave the school premises without written permission from housemasters.
  • Visitors may only meet boarders during approved visiting hours.
  • Lights-out rules must be followed. No activity is permitted after lights-out.
  • Students found with prohibited items (tobacco, alcohol, drugs) will be immediately expelled.

📢 Note to Parents & Guardians

We request all parents to cooperate with the institution in maintaining discipline. Please ensure your child attends school regularly, completes homework daily and respects the teachers and fellow students. Your cooperation is essential for your child's success and the smooth functioning of the institution.

For any concerns or grievances, parents are welcome to meet the Principal during office hours — Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
